Girls Football Team Sponsorship

The football tour for our girls was very successful! We travelled to Shrewsbury school in Shropshire on Monday morning and competed in seven 11-a-side matches across three days (Mon-Wed). Our girls won 5 matches and drew 2, finishing top of the table and being presented with the trophy for ‘HD Sportsworld Football Tournament Girls Overall Winners’.

On the Thursday morning we competed in a 5-a-side tournament where we entered three teams. Our Charles Darwin Utd team finished top of their group, won 4-0 in the semi-final and then won 2-0 in the final to again finish as winners and claim the trophy.

Competing against schools from all over the country, including Newcastle, Manchester and our local rivals Hayes School, we came back to Biggin Hill with two trophies. An outstanding achievement.

The girls made new friendships and came home with memories to last a lifetime. We cannot thank Autoflame enough for sponsoring our kit, allowing the girls to look the part and come together as a team, no doubt contributing to their success. We cannot wait to wear it again next season and see what the future has in store for this already very successful young girls team.

We also purchased some trophies with your sponsorship money for managers player of the tournament, top goal scorer, most improved and fair play award. These were presented to four of the girls before our departure from Shrewsbury on Thursday. Our winners were Rachel Barnes (Managers Player), Leah Weston (Fair Play Award), Emma Spear (Top Goalscorer) and Nicole Ingleby (Most improved player).
